i’d like to pair my 2 p.regius but every time i try to introduce the female to the male he tries to eat her..he was a recessive gene male if that has anything to do with it but he’s since molted out of the color. i believe they are both mature, they are both instar 5-6.
i try to introduce them through an enclosure, one being inside and one outside so no one gets hurt..and he stalks her and tries to eat her every time! what’s weird is he won’t take actual food either, i’ve tried offering him a mealworm before introducing and he just went inside his nest..is he just not in the mood? does anyone have any advice? here’s some pics of them just incase

Personally if I noticed they were obviously rejecting eachother, I wouldn’t try to breed them. But I’m not a breeder so this is just my personal opinion.

RR,
Your male pregius is looks like a sub-adult. His pedipalps are still fuzzy.
He has one more molt in him. Here is a photo of our mature p.regius notice his pedipalps are fully developed.

We hope this helps
