Hiya! I'm getting 5 P.regius spiderlings and I'm beyond excited I've been wanting one for sooooooo long but here in Canada they're insanely rare and tend to sell super quickly. I was wondering if some of you could give me some care tips. I already own 10 ts and 1 Eresidae sp. gandanameno so I'm pretty familiar with spiders in general but I'm not sure what moisture level would be appropriate. I live in a very dry climate so I tend to keep my spoods a wee bit more humid than other keepers. Thank you loads already!

So you ordered them, and just now are doing research for their care?

no
haven't ordered them yet
also I have a basic idea of their care since I nearly bought some last february and did some research then
but I just want to be certain they have a good life so I want some care tips and a refreshed memory
why always so passive aggressive on this board lmao
I already own their enclosures and I have everything they need but I'm not certain of the moisture

I've had bad luck at keeping them alive. From my experience they seem to need more moisture and more frequent feedings than T's but take my advice with a grain of salt

yea I asked a keeper a couple of months ago and he told me to feed them every 3 days ish and spray some water every 2 days ish but that sounds like alot but idk
i've heard some ppl spray every week instead so I wanted to get informations specifically for slings and in drier climates
ik they're fragile so I don't want to risk killing them after years of scurching the interwebs to find some in Canada
I also heard they needed more moisture than ts but that's so vague bc some ts do require alot of moisture while others like it dry
anyhow thank you for your time I'll try messaging the seller maybe he could provide some infos

3 days is a good interval to feed slings, definitely not a lot. I’m not good with humidity requirements because my jumper species likes it dry, so can’t help there. I fed my almost juvenile sling every 3 days (before it molted, now about once every 5-7 days) and that was good. So slings need the same or maybe more depending on the size of food. 93028D12-3FD7-46F3-905C-FABE2710D517.jpeg

Are you suggesting I was passive agressive for asking a DIRECT question????? If so, that’s delusional.

thank you so much! I got told by other keepers to feed them everyday or two and got some informations regarding their moisture needs which is mostly dry but they just need water drops to drink from🤗

Some will take them, although mine did best with flightless fruit flies. Especially slings are often more likely to eat something small and bouncy :)
Now i actually have them and had great responses with feeding them prekilled pinhead crickets with tiny tongs
they jump right on it! so i'd now say that chopped off mealworms could work but you need to make the bits move a bit or they wont take it

They do take a lot of care, lots of feeding etc. I caught a wild female that gave birth babies, and found myself running out of food, even after letting half the babies go... I ended up releasing mum and the rest of her brood. Next time I would probably buy fruit flies as they can be quite hard to catch, and find. I loved raising them while I did.
