Jumping spider not eating.

Hi so i have a female regal jumping spider and i’ve been told she is likely 5th instar. When i first got her she was on fruit flies which i thought she was eating but turns out she wasn’t , so i then spoke to someone who suggested i try crickets. It’s also important to mention she only has 7 legs and i’ve only seen her jump once , she seems a bit slower when she moves and i think this can make it more difficult for her to hunt so i opted for tong feeding to ensure she is actually eating. She has taken a few meals from me but it’s always a pain to get her to actually take them and for some reason her venom isn’t paralysing the crickets which ends up with her being thrown around as she sinks her fangs in so i also remove a few of the crickets legs to make this easier for her. She is now back to showing 0 interest in her food and i have tried leaving a cricket in there more than once to see if she will hunt it herself but she doesn’t. I’m just not really sure what to do now i’ve never actually seen her moult either but i’m worried about her not eating. I’ve also tried leaving more days in between feeding to give her a chance to build an appetite but still no interest. I’m just really lost now and i don’t know what to try next as i don’t want to end up with loads of locusts/ mealworms just trying to find out which one she will actually take as it is a lot to waste. Someone pls help😀😀

Try pre killing a cricket and put it in the spider's web. If she webs up in her hammock, leave her be as she may molt. Try not to disturb her too often and make sure she has water.

She may be in pre-molt assuming she hasn't already undergone final molt. Do you know about how old she is?

Have you tried mealworms? If you pre-kill them they wiggle around for awhile. My mature female regius doesn't like crickets and refuses to eat anything other than mealworms 😆.

Her abdomen doesn't look dangerously small so just make sure she's hydrated and continue to try feeding occasionally.

Best of luck to you and your jumper!

As others said, the jumper could be in pre-molt. Try to not disturb her and let her do her spidey thing.

She has escaped for the 2nd time now and been gone a few weeks, do you think i should release a cricket in my room in hopes she will find it? I’ve been misting my window and also left her enclosure open for her to go back inside but no sightings of her for about 3 weeks.

I think she is a few months now, i bought her from a pet shop when she was still being fed fruit flies back in late august so she should be roughly 4 months and i think 5th instar? i’m not exactly sure :(

Thank you so much, she has unfortunately escaped and been missing for about 3 weeks now :(. If i find her and she is still refusing i will absolutely try mealworms. Thank you for your help <33

She may be climbing the walls or hiding in the potted plants.
Keep Searching. :shy:
Good Luck.
