I caught a jumping spider on my grill this summer and has lived in its cage for 6 months now. They are very fun/curious and he is an aggressive eater. This last molt he doesn't look quite the same and was a little sluggish after coming out. Might be one of his last. I would be careful about purchasing larger jumping spiders and expecting them to live a long time. I had purchased a phidippus audax (the blue-green fanged jumping spider) at around 1 inch, he only lived for about 1-2 months after purchasing. I imagine the females live longer. But that has been my experience with them.
