I recently caught a pretty good sized female from my backyard, I've had her in a small setup for almost a week now hoping I could find a adult male and try at a breeding project. But a couple days in she laid an egg sac in her web, but only guarded it for a a day or two before leaving the web. I think it may still be fertile but I doubt it is, of course now that she's out I'm feeding her up and giving her water. I'm curious if anyone knows when she might be ready for a compatible male once she gets lots of food and water?
Thanks for the help

it does not matter if they lay an infertile egg sac. they will use the sperm when they are ready to lay a fertile batch :)
