Hi everyone,
Since a short time i have a jumping spider. I feed her curled winged flies. As soon as he sees the fly he jumps on it and grabs it.
Then he just walked around the cage with its prey and after a while he dropped it again. Without eating.
What could be the reason of this?
Thanks ;)
Btw, i catched him in the wild.

maybe he's preparing for a molt. was the fly still alive afterwards?

It could be that he already ate before you caught him, is a bit stressed from the sudden change, or he might be nearly ready to molt. What are you keeping him in and also, do you know what species he is?

Any chance you could get a closer one of the spider? I can't see him well enough to ID him. You could maybe add some more cover in there for him. Like leaves or fake plants so he can hide if he wants to. Also, do you have ventilation?
