Hello! I have an i6 Phidippus Regius who just made a thick hammock in anticipation for molting. He’s been locked up inside for a week and came out once to drink a ton of water.

Now today I noticed he started to come out of his hammock with different colored legs (I assumed he molted) I stood up in the room and he was startled and spurted back inside. I noticed it looks like there are 2 of him inside the hammock now so he molted BUT I’m worried he might be stuck to the molt.

Should I wait for him to come out? I hope I didn’t disturb his process

Let him come out on his own, your little buddy may just not be quite finished yet. In the mean time be sure he has some humidity in his enclosure and try not to disturb him :)

Provide water for it to drink and leave it alone. They don't have private molting rooms to use in the wild, so you moving around would not be an issue - there are all kinds of disturbances that they deal with out there, and they've adapted to do just that. Wait and enjoy seeing it's new outfit when it comes out.

Thank you! He pushed his molt out of his hammock and he successfully molted! He’s taking his own time coming out for sure! He’s never been this shy but it must of taken a lot out of him!

Thank you so much! Makes me feel loads better! He officially started to come out today! He’s bigger and has changed some colors! Love these little guys!
