okay so, i’m very new to spiders and i’m starting out with a few jumpers..
my female Phidippus Audax has created a cocoon like web and has been in there forever almost two weeks.. i see a shadow of a molt in there with her, but i’m wondering if she is also laying an egg sac.. i haven’t seen her in almost two weeks and she hasn’t eaten

Ok so after jumping spiders molt, they take a little while after they are done to harden before they emerge. When did you notice the molt appear?

i noticed it this morning while misting the enclosure
Ok so wait a few days. It will come out when it is ready, just leave it alone. It is hardening it’s exoskeleton and fangs. They don’t lay egg sacks right after molting because they don’t have enough stored energy to make the egg sack. 😊
