Ok, this is the coolest thing I've seen in a while.
My kids found this little lady in our living room window. She has an almost perfect heart on her abdomen.

This is the biggest jumper we have around here (Wyoming). They are about 3/4", and have iridescent green chelicera. Anyone know the species?

P audax I believe it is, very cute, and seems to have quite the capability for different white patterns. I find they fade to gold with age, Darling species.

That's pretty big as jumpers go. I'm not that good with jumpers but it looks like the Phiddipus audax we have here in MD.

That heart is SO cool. She looks like she may be preggers too...

Thank you. :)

Yeah, I've noticed quite a difference in their patterns. I can tell them apart if I pay attention. Of course this one only takes one glance to tell which one she is.

I meddled with selectivly breeding them once with some effect, I believe I managed a 10% larger then average adult size, but never lookedi nto their various patterns, would be an intresting experiment.

Thanks. :)

I think she is, too.

The last time I let the kids keep one that was that fat, she had a double clutch of eggs. Of course they kind of forgot to take them outside before they started to disperse, and we ended up with a whole lot of jumpers around the house. {D

I wonder what the odds are she could have offspring with that heart? It would be cool to see.

I think the widow looks amazing. :D The heart is so perfect....maybe I'll make a Valentines day card design with that in mind!

I love the variability of jumper markings, its something I plan on experimenting with, along with size like you were doing Malhavoc...

so pretty!
