A good ficus would be great. You will also need a drip system because that's the only way they drink (they can't see standing water and they poop in whatever bowls you give them), you will also need to find a vitamin powder that gives you a 4 to 1 calcium to phosphorous ratio or else it will die of malnutrition within a year, feed it twice a day (as much as it will eat), Jacksons need very high humidity so mist twice a day, and you will need a basking light and a seperate UV A/B light but make sure it's a good one cuz a lot of them don't work at all. Also, make sure you house them either far away, or better yet, in different rooms because they get VERY stressed by being around others of their own species and trust me, these guys die very easily from stress.

Good luck, these guys are about the biggest commitment you can make when buying a reptile, so make sure you always stay on top of caring for them! :D

I'm Nick's(Morax) friend, and I'm gonna clarify on a question that he had. He wants to keep a PAIR(female and male) and if it's ok to keep them together in an appropriate sized cage. I understand it wouldn't be to good if 2 males were kept together.

Just about an small tree would be fine. Try not to make it too leafy, if anything very branchy (lol?). As for plants, I'm not too sure. Pothos are always a good option, they are very easy to care for. You can buy those exoterra waterfalls, my friends uses one and it works great. Just make sure to clean out the water often (daily/bi daily). You can even put a fogger inside of the waterfall to help with humidity. Yes it is fine to keep a male and female together.

Also, make sure the plants do no have any pesticides in them. If they do, make sure to clean it out very well.

It is not ok to house a male and female together. You can introduce them temporarily to each other but the male will either eventually kill the female, or the female will stress out from the male and die. I do keep chameleons and I am part of a large forum dedicated to chams only, I know what I'm talking about and I'm just trying to make sure your pair of chams are safe and healthy.

If you want to learn more, I would post here http://www.chameleonforums.com/ instead of on arachnoboards.

Also, the person before me said to use and exoterra waterfall. DONT BUY ONE!!! I got one for mega dollars only to learn they were perfect breeding grounds for bacteria and are dangerous to use even with daily cleaning. Buy the "little dripper" instead. It's like $10 and is a drip system which is the only way they drink because it simulates the way they drink in the wild. The fogger is a good idea though if you have the money because Jacksons are one of the more delicate species.... I would actually suggest maybe starting with e Veiled first because they're more foregiving. In T terms it would be like Petco selling a pokie to someone with the caresheet from a rosea.

Don't put them together. Period.

You MIGHT be able to fly with two females but it's not worth the risk.

If you're gong to get two, then put forth the money to get two separate set ups.

No, not even two females would be okay. The only way to do this properly is if the enclosure was a greenhouse (no joke). Like everyone said, they are very delicate.

@Mr bonsai. What's your handle on chamforums? Is it the same?

Yeah, but I was only active when I was caring for my girlfriend's veiled, but she's finally taken that over for me (after a year!)

Separate cages and I would not be so quick to supplement with montanes ... do more research!

Not only do you need two setups but there have to be some visual barriers in between them. If the Chameleons can see each other clearly they will still stress out by communicating via colors across the room and it would almost be the same as housing them together. The male will spend all his time trying to display to the female and she will spend alot of time telling him to either keep away or come and get it....

They need to not be able to see, and in some cases "hear" eachother as some species will emit ultrasonic sounds (vibration) than can be detected in close vicinity.

Do some research, there are plenty of good site out there....
