I believe I have caught Eburia haldemani last night by my porch light. I can't find anywhere what the adults eat, only the grubs which is understandable considering they can be pest insects. If it's not haldemani, it is at least an Eburia sp. Any help guys? With those huge mandibles, I'm sure they gotta be eating something. Quick help is appreciated as I have no idea how long these guys can go without food! ;)

Life Cycle
in seasoned wood, larvae develop slowly and may take decades to emerge (up to 40 yrs recorded)(2)"

Thanks for the dichotomous key! The 'perhaps' part in the diet worries me though.

nectar and fruit would not be bad to try, at the very least you will be able to see if they are feeding or not.

Tried some cut apple but it doesn't look like he nibbled. I mixed up some honey water with raw honey to see if that works. If not that...humming bird nectar maybe? We have an undyed brand at my store.

We also found a female of the same species tonight. Research, research :}
