I keep my Zophobas morio on rottened birch wood. Look what I've just found... It appeard in a few hours. My beetles were so happy :)




...but after 24 hours food just dissapeard :(

Like he said, it simply grew from the rotten wood within a few hours. Fungus can be anywhere but you won't know until it "fruits", and that's what's happened here. He didn't try to grow it...it was there all along.

Thanks Scythemantis, you are right :D

I can only add that all remains were eaten in the next two days. Tenebrionidae beetles love almost all fungi.
