It's that time of year.. more gifts from my snakes..

A few weeks ago my taiwan beauty female gave me 12 eggs to look after, I was expecting that, yesterday my new adult female african house snake gave me another dozen to hatch. I got her in april, and havent bred her, so I guess I got 12 freebies with that order that came 3 months later.

I didn't take any pics of mom with the eggs, I didn't know how long they had been there, so I rushed them into the incubator.

taiwan beauty eh, my old roomate had a female, she was mean as all could be.

Both my taiwan beauty snakes are quite calm and docile. She never even attempted to strike when I was robbing her eggs. She hissed a couple of times.. but she does that at nothing sometimes.

Well the house snake eggs have all hatched. I am waiting for them to shed now so I can offer them their first meals.

Congrats! I'm going to breed my first snakes this year (cornsnakes and sand boas). I've spent the last few months learning everything I can about breeding so I'm really excited to give it a try. I have the females so I hope to pick up some handsome males at the next reptile show.

This was my first year breeding snakes, Taiwan beauty snakes, whose eggs are still incubating. The house snake eggs were a surprise, the breeder I got the female from said she had already laid her clutch, and well.. she double clutched and now I have 12 happy, healthy babies.
