I'm debating getting into isopod keeping/breeding with some extra cash I have lying around. I'm thinking I'll try to get the Cappuccino and Red Panda King variants to begin.
I've done a fair share of research but I want these little crustaceans to thrive as much as possible so I have a few clarifying questions (answer broadly or specific to the types I stated).

1. As far as heating goes, I know that the Cappuccino should be kept around 75-80 degrees, but are they okay with lower temperatures? I'd like them to breed and become an actual culture, so I'm wondering whether a heating pad would be necessary in order for them to thrive. This question can also go for the Red Panda Kings.

2. For keeping their tanks nice and moist, how often should I be misting both varients? I'm sure it's dependent on temperature so let's say they'd be living in a 60-65 degree area.

3. With their substrate, would say some small cork bark pieces and leaf litter throughout coconut fiber with thick leaf litter and large cork pieces on top would be acceptable? (And springtails)

4. If I were to use just a tubberware container, how large should it be? And ventilation wise how many holes would I drill into it so they can still keep their humidity?

I may be adding to this post as I come up with more questions, but this is all so far. Thanks for reading!

You definitely want a container deep enough to hold moisture I tried a small deli Cup for pillbugs and it’s drying out too quickly. You have to experiment with the ventilation, see how quickly it dries out. I gave mine too much ventilation many years ago. 😞 they were wc woodlouse . I don’t think I used to clear enough container to watch them . I use topsoil, but there are other options.
I can’t comment on the exact species are getting. Good luck. 🍀
