I've been searching for a convenient source of hardwood material for isopod and roach cultures. I believe I have a natal mahogany tree (could be wrong though) outside my apartment that drops a lot of leaves and pods throughout the year. I'm reading that the outer covering of the seed is toxic, but can't figure out if leaves, dry pods, or branches would be to detritivores, especially if dry. Anyone know much about these trees?

Trichilia dregeana is related to neem, a common insecticide. I would avoid every plant in this family for food for insects etc.

Dang. That's unfortunate. I'll have to find another source, because it's just these and ficuses around me. Thanks for the info!
