So I found a couple dozen of these guys under the maple leaves this spring and when I went to try looking them up apparently isopods have never been reported where I live (central Alberta Canada) Can someone help Identify them? I have been looking at pictures but seems to be a few species that look similar EF75DB5F-5173-4FA8-9D1B-7C16E1EF6318.jpeg 7D19E6EE-6EC4-4777-98C8-22B4D33A667D.jpeg

Could also be Hassi, but that would seem odd, I think, because you're in Canada, and according to Google, Hassi are local to drier southern regions. Looks like Oniscus Asellus, otherwise known as 'the common woodlouse,' which has a largely cosmopolitan distribution and are thus found all over the world. I have a massive colony I started from a few I found outside my office in Idaho. The yellow spotted ones are seemingly less common.

@lindale450 Your isopods are Porcellio spinicornis, species commonly recorded across Alberta :)

P. haasi looks a bit different and it is a rare huge species endemic to Spain...
