My cats aren't picky when they eat now thats a different story with my almost 3 yr old Daschund. When he eats he only eats certain things in his food. Then the rest he won't touch or just knocks it out of his bowl. So do you have a pet like that

Lol this is one of thoughs problems your probably stuck with , Mine would rather starve than eat certan brands of dog food, Find something he likes an stick with it that way you shouldnt get to many untouched meels.

Failing that a good way to make your dog eat his dinner even if he dont like it is to simply threaten to eat it yourself , better still If you offer his diner to the cats he will eat it simply to prevent them having it, I use this alot and it always works

Our Yorkie mix, when we put the food in the bowl she will not eat the food out of the bowl. She tips it over with her paw so that about 20 pieces come out and then she'll eat 1 piece, chew, swallow, repeat.

LOL Michelle {D He's got you trained!

My dogs will sit around waiting for me to drop something, or finish eating before they will even TOUCH their own food, argh, that annoys me so much! I swore id never give my dogs human food, though I rarely do, they get it from my son or on accident. My female will get on top of the table and eat whats left over, that's so aggrevating! She sneaks around waiting for me to leave the room and makes her move before I get back {D The male cant reach the chair to get onto the table, so I dont have to worry about him, lol.
My Flying Squirrel will eat all the peanuts, seeds, and fruits, but leave most of the veggies. Though he does eat them pretty good, I cant complain :) He's nice and fat :)

my mom used to own poodles would would not eat the food on the doggy carpet or out of the bowl, they'd take it from the area, move to the corner, and then eat it. How weird.

When my cat is pissed off with his food, he will sit in front of the dog dishes and slowly eat (only when someone is around though)
Like he is saying "Look at me, Im so abused and neglected that I am forced to eat this horrible dog food!" Meanwhile he has a full dish downstairs... but since its not a can, its not good enough. I rarely feed him a can, but he begs and begs and BEGS, EVERY DAY. He is the most persistent and stubborn cat on the face of this earth, I swear...

One cat, Kali, has to have Purena One Adult Cat food with the hairball prevention stuff added in. Nothing else. If I try to give her different food, she just sits and stares at the bowl, like she's trying to will it to become her preferred food. She won't even eat cat treats.

The other cat, Dapple, will eat anything. Cat food, dog food, fish flakes, people food, escaped crickets, anything. I have to try and watch her to make sure she doesn't eat anything that could make her sick.
