Now as a plumber for several years , I have found a lot of different spiders and a few they say shouldn't be common on the East Coast of North Carolina more than once, but today at work this was a first so I had to trap it for ID.
Could anyone tell me exactly which Funnel Web this is?

Strange huh, it was found in Chesapeake, VA, right next to the NC VA Border, onlything I can think, is that there is a warehouse near by that has a lot of Naval Equipment from DRMO, but to make it that far and that long there is more than one. anyone know their territory range?

Its not an Atrax if thats what spike means, it looks like a myglamorph, trapdoor.

Looks like a Ummidia sp. to me, and they are native to your range.
Good find!

There are native funnelwebs in the USA, just a lot smaller and less dangerous than the Australian species.

Funnelwebs typically have very long spinnerets, so I suspect that this is a trapdoor instead.

Yes, notice the saddle-shaped depression in the third leg ( visible in the upper right-hand pic ). This formation makes it an Ummidia sp. trapdoor.
