hello I bought some crickets from petsmart and I found one dead with white curls from its head. Is my whole supply infected now? I was going to feed my T before I saw this IMG_20210313_135013915.jpg

Ok thank you. I will replace my supply asap
It’s one of those things where it could be a one off. However I’m not an expert when it comes to parasites and how they spread etc.. I just wouldn’t take the risk. Maybe switch over to a different feeder for a while until they get new shipment in.

That looks kinda like a molt to me, I have seen similar in molted skins and fed the crickets with no harm.

Cordyceps doesn't normally look that clean when it starts to fruit. And most of the parasites in crickets come out of the butt. Its a bit blurry of a photo. Can't verify but those look a lot like the molted spiracles being pulled through the split in the back. Did it stink? Was it feather light? I'm not even gonna pretend I'm on team crickets, because I am the farthest from it. Might want to poke it a bit if you a curious. If it is a molt, it will be fairly evident.

Thank you everyone for your help. I found out when I got the new amount that it is a shed skin. an hour after bringing them home there as a white cricket (which I caught right away and gave to my T ) and found the old skin and half an hour later saw a cricket in the molting process
