Is this product safe for goldfish?

Actually, I don't see why not. There are gel based foods that are generally speaking better than dry prepared foods.

I haven't tried the gels, but why do you find the cubes messy? I personally thaw them out either at room temperature or in a shallow dish of warm water, and then I use tweezers to feed individual worms to my fish. I don't even find live bloodworms to be messy to feed - although I only feed these rarely when I find them in my horse's trough, I do not culture them. It seems like the gel food must be more processed than frozen worms, since it does not spoil at room temperature, so it is likely less nutritious. However, pelleted foods commonly fed to goldfish are even more processed and less healthy, so the gel is likely better than most pelleted foods or freeze-dried bloodworms.

oh these! my old aquatic frog used to sing for these! i miss that guy..... good stuff, i used it for years.
