ok so today i was feeding my fire belly toads and i looked into the tank from the side and i saw what looked like a very small skinny strand of somthing. except it was MOVING! in a squiggly worm like motion. you could tell it was definatly a living thing. it looked like an ameba thingy that you see when you look at fish tank water in a microscope. could this just be one of those just very large. it was too small and see through to get a pic. its only a few millimeters. so do i need to be worried?:?

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong catagory. move it if it needs to be

Maybe some kind of gnat larva. Some are pretty skinny and clear-looking. Also live in places of high humidity.

Probably a nematode, one of the most abundant animals on the planet (and sources of occasional paranoia/phobia for tarantula keepers). If you brought any substrate, etc. from the backyard, you likely brought in a few nematodes. Nothing to worry about 99.9% of the time, especially if your animals are healthy in the first place.
