This is the spider I bought a few months ago, which was sold as a "Blood-Leg", and was shipped with no padding whatsoever in the deli cup. She arrived badly damaged, with one back leg completely off, and the last two-three joints of two other legs broken off, plus a small tear in her abdomen. Somehow, this girl survived, and moulted a few days ago. She has regenerated that missing leg and the lost parts of the others, though these regenerated parts are still very small. However, I do not think that she is an Aphonopelma bicoloratum at all, but a Megaphobema robustum . Her carapace is now black, unlike any A. bicoloratum's I've ever seen, and her rear legs(with the exception of the new one)are really thick. She still is a pretty calm T, though, unlike everything I've read about this species. Here is a pic-let me know what y'all think in regards to identity. Sorry the pic is so tiny, but the "Attachment Manager" won't let me upload anything over 100 kb's.

OH, well, I'm just happy she made it; there were several times I really didn't think she'd pull through. I will be even happier once she starts eating, since that's usually a good sign they're finally out of the woods. As long as she is healthy and keeps a fairly good attitude, I won't complain!

It does look like an M. robustum. If it really is, you got one heck of a deal :) M. robustum are much more expensive than A. bicoloratum.

I'M SO HAPPY SHE MADE IT!!!!! :worship: :clap: I've thought about this T often! They are truly amazing....and congrats to you for helping her pull through!! BTW--I remember how worried you were because she was supposed to be close to a molt...do you think she postponed it for awhile until she had enough strength to make it through? It's been awhile since you received her. AND--she's gorgeous!! :}
