Is the Wolf spider I found preparing to molt or is it dying?

Hey guys! So I was looking for spiders at my girlfriend's house today with a flashlight and I quickly found this guy. However once I drew near to it I realized it was on its back with its legs curled up. Thinking it was dead, I picked it up in my hand, at which point it came to life and started drunkenly walking around on my hand. I've seen many wolf spiders and I have never ever witnessed one walk the way it did, it was really strange. Shortly after it resumed this curled up position, so I took it inside just in case something came along and ate it. Is it preparing to molt (if so should I flip it on its back) or is it dying?

Dying is what it looks like to me. If it was molting, then it's legs would not be curled in.

Yep, that there is unfortunately the infamous “death curl” that most spiders do when they start to lose muscle function in their legs (followed by death).

Shoot. I thought it was probably dying but the weird movement (and my limited knowledge on wolf spider molting behavior) gave me a little hope. But alas.
