is the c darlingi a good starter tarantula species? Im considering on getting one as it is extremely cheap in my area and its husbandry seems simple.

A distinction is made between species from the old world and species from the new world (based on their origin). OWs are never good beginner spiders. Their venom is usually quite strong, they are very fast (darlingis are damn fast!) and can react very defensively. Without proper experience, a beginner will usually have little fun with such an animal.

If you have prior experience and if those Ts you listed aren’t tiny slings, then go for it. I wouldn’t sell a venomous anything to a 16 year old personally. Just asking for issues.

i see, then what is a good species to transition to old world? Thank you! (i have kept a g pulchripies,c veriscolor,and a p irimina)
Get something from Ephebopus and raise it to a decent size, if you can keep that without killing it/it escaping/it tagging you then you're good to keep OW fossorials.

it’s how I got started in OW’s - i agree with others in that there is beginner-beginner species for the absolute beginner and there’s beginner species for those with experience who want to get into keeping OW’s - C. Darlingi is the latter of the 2

I actually more cautious with my E. cyanognathus (loves to bolt throw temper tantrums and in the end is just a sling with 2cm) than my H.pulchripes and my M. balfouri (both mature females).

On the topic;
In my opinion if you want a tarantula that is cheap, does amazing web castles, easy husbandry, loves to bolt and if it tags you doesn't have the "medically significant venom" part, then you should consider a Neoholothele incei.

One of my first Ts was a Ceratogyrus sanderi, it was a freebie, without any tags in the cup...

Trying to rehouse her from the cup, she jumped to the enclosure, bolted, jumped to my hand, went around two times and jumped back into the enclosure, all of this in less than a blink...

C. darlingi was my first old world sling. It's a pet hole with legs sometimes.
Exactly what I was going to say, you’ll see it pretty rarely. That’s usually a turn off to new keepers.
