I'd post a current pic with this but the good news is, there is nothing to photograph except a big pile of substrate closing off her entrance! My A chalcodes (CB) mated with a wild local from my neighbor's yard this summer. Yeah, she was taken with his charms, the love 'em and leave 'em type.

I was just noticing what a huge booty she had gotten when she went missing into the depths of her hide. I'm crossing my fingers. I watched them mate many times so am certain of success on the part of the MM, wild thang!

Here are a few shots of them mating several months ago.

you never know, she could be getting ready for a molt too. just keep your eye on her, and keep us updated. hopefully she will lay a sack for you.

ps: um.. where was this WC male found? what city/town/locality? i ask for obvious reasons, i'm sure you understand :)

Hmm, lol not sure what the question is about but it's ok. I live in AZ where every summer, the day our monsoons start, the MM A chalcodes come out of their burrows and go on their mating search. They are everywhere! The females don't leave their burrows but wait for the male to seek her out.

Some people are afraid of them :? and instead of killing them they give them to me! Most I mate with my females and a few days after release them. If they look like they are on their last legs I let them set up housekeeping and I give them lots of TLC until they pass.

Here in Sedona where it gets cold at night in the fall the MMs have a short life after they mature. They either get eaten by a roadrunner, snake, or other animal or freeze to death. I still have one MM that gets all the crickets he can eat and a 75 degree room to bask in the heat.

Thanks for asking, love giving out our local info about T's here. I feel grateful to see them in the wild!:D Most people enjoy them and stop their cars to let them pass.

Ah, so that was it. Yeah, many species of MMs after ultimate molt change in color. The A chals here look much more like the females until then.
