Is my scorpion on the move a lot because he wants to mate?

Do you think my scorpion is trying to answer nature’s call? I feel a little bad.
We have what I’m pretty sure is a adult male emperor, however I am not an expert and will love to share pics sometime.
I bought him from petco like 2 years ago and he had one more molt a while back and is now full grown.
Lately I wonder if I should rehome him to a scorpion enthusiast, feeling bad when I think about him dying alone
but I might also be overthinking things and he will be fine to live the rest of his life in his comfortable 10 gal home.

They're not like mammals where they require constant companionship/attention in order to thrive. They're generally solitary creatures, only coming together for mating purposes. Even then the male has to pick up the pheromone scent of the female so if your one is a male, and you don't have any female scorpions around, he can't detect their scent so he isn't likely to get that mating urge. I'm not certain but I don't think pandinus have actual breeding seasons. Also if your one is wandering around a lot, it may be due to conditions in his enclosure. So pics would be great to see the setup of his enclosure!

Females tend to keep themselves to themselves, in their burrows / hides. Males do tend to wander, they can sense seasonal changes, and off they go. If yours has fairly recently had it's last molt, you could be together for another 4/5 years at least. However as others have said conditions in the enclosure may not be as they once were. Too dry, too wet, too cold. Don't complain too much- there are many on these boards complain that they never see their scorpion/ T.

His tank does get some seasonal changes because in the winter I will heat and in the summer he stays at my house temp. my home is 70 at night and up to low 80s daytime in the summer. and He gets a rare “rain” when I think things need water. but because we have a glass lid the humidity stays constant.

Ya, males are wanderers by nature. Trying to hop from colony to colony and diversify the gene pool. Theyll also do it if they're hungry/thirty, it's too dry/cool in their enclosure, or they don't approve of their nest/burrow site(s)
