My little female audax molted recently for the first time with me, and over the past 2 days she has been DEMOLISHING crickets. Shes eating one right now, the last cricket in her enclosure, and I'll post a pic later cuz my phone is dead, but I have never seen a jumper this fat before. She looks like a little balloon and it almost makes me worried. Can they eat themselves to death?

Everything I've read online said no, except for two people. The thing I would worry about is impaction, especially if you haven't found any poop around (not sure if impaction occurs in jumpers). I don't know if she's only eaten one cricket each day, but I would wait a day or two to feed her again. It's likely that she didn't eat when preparing to molt, so maybe she's making up for that time without food.

She's pretty young though, not sure how large the crickets are. My female auxax has a pretty big butt, so maybe she's just getting a larger abdomen after the molt as part of maturing.

P.S. not an expert, I just read a lot of stuff online

My spiders usually will eat an entire cricket till there's nothing left after molting too. Idk if they can actually eat themselves to death (I know I prob could lol, ahem) but if their abdomen gets too big and they fall, it can rupture.
So I would recommend letting their chelicerae harden a few days after they molt, then feeding them every day for a few days, then every other day until going back to their normal schedule. This has worked for me at least.
Also make sure that they are going to the bathroom and aren't impacted from eating so much lol.

Usually they stop eating once they have had enough, but “enough” is usually A LOT. And it’s not good for them to eat too much because they can injure themselves if they fall.

Im pretty sure overfeeding is not the main cause of impaction, at least in tarantulas it isn't.
