Hey all, I recently got a block of Expert Gardner Organics "Expanding Soil" (coconut coir), and I was wondering if it is safe for invertebrates? I am currently testing it with some of my Red Runner Roaches and isopods, and insofar they are fine; it smells like regular Eco-Earth with a tinge of acidity. Anybody with experience with Expert Gardner please chime in, as I need to rehouse some stuff ASAP!

Thanks,

The ingredients say 100% coconut coir, so yes it is safe. I use CANNA coconut coir from my local hydroponics store and it is the same stuff branded for pets.

Always go by the ingredients on the label and not by the marketing on the package.

Thanks @AphonopelmaTX! I was just double-checking, don't want any of my prized Blaberus giganteus or Eublaberus sp. "Ivory" dying due to my negligence!

Thanks,
