I was nipping a cedar bush and decided to keep a few neat pieces and take the bark off, shape them and let them dry out. Is Cedar safe for them? Thx

I know tarantulas react badly to conifer and pine, I would think that translates to jumpers as well! Especially cedar, it's used to repel many other insects

Yeah that's what I was afraid of, snakes too, it hurts their respiratory system

Cedars make cedrol, an oily substance that is a full on biocide.

Cedar is not safe for any pets, but ESPECIALLY not for arachnids. Its literally poison to them.

Thanks! So can anyone recommend some neat wood types besides cork bark and mopani?

not until you define neat

providing a subjective term is often meaningless in these types of questions
Most people would say neat as in, beautiful, intriguing, or pleasing to look at.
I asked if anyone could recommend any other types of wood besides cork and mopani.

You don’t understand perhaps, pleasing to you is not for another. Beauty eye of the beholder.

I list 10 types of wood - you don’t like- well I wasted your time and mine

That's ok, you're free to answer and not answer my question. I just simply asked the question.

I'm just interested in what others have for their enclosures, wanted to know what others like to use besides cork and mopani.

This reminds me of Sis's gunsmith shop where they build custom firearms. Her boss said something along the lines of it's easier to hand make a complete one off ultra exotic gun than it is for the owner to select the wood for the stock.

Bingo! Very easy
Next time just be more specific. I just wanted to know what kind of wood you enjoy having! :D I left the question open ended because I am open minded to all types of wood and want to explore my options. The word 'neat' was used loosely.

I don’t have the time for such a question.
I used to answer them, but then you hear all the “I don’t like that one….” because peeps are not specific enough just like you.
