i have this one insect in my collection that i cant for the life of me identify.
i am 99% sure it's a beetle, because it has what i believe to be elytra. it has short thread-like antennae, a short and narrow thorax, and a pretty small abdomen also. it has very un-beetlelike legs though, skinny.
so anywho, i originally thought a carabid, but it's too thin. then cerambycid but the antennae are too short. now i suspect a twig-borer or a bark-gnawer...but i cant find any matched at bugguide.net. anyone have a clue?
