Hi my dad was digging sweet patatos and speared a toad. Luckily it only removed skin, but i removed alot of skin around it belly and back. The toad seems to move around just fine so my question is what should i do for it. I already washed the wound and set up a nice cage for it.

Thank for any replys

keep the wound clean and you might want to apply a MILD antibiotic. DO RESEARCH ON AN AMPHIBIAN FORUM BEFORE YOU DO THIS.

I have a frog myself and if it got hurt, I would only use moist sterile paper towels in the enclosure until it healed. Feed it lots and keep it hydrated and it should be fine

I've heard great things about the kingsnake. com forums.

Do a search on who here has amphibians...I'm sure they'll be more help than I will.

I wish I could help more.

One of the things I read on the kingsnake forums suggested diluted tetracyclin for an infection on an african clawed frog, but didn't give any measurements.
