Alright I have two tiger salamanders fully mature and theres these black flys swarming in the cage the temps are like 60-70 in around in there what should i do about these flys i know there not harming my tigers but i see there moving to my armadilo lizards as well?

I'd do a complet tank cleaning and make sure to boil any wood that might be in the tanks.

Are they roughly fruit fly-sized critters? If so, they are probably fungus gnats. By all accounts harmless, but annoying. I hate 'em. But they often come with keeping high humidity enclosures. You can get them in heavily watered houseplants too. The ones I am accustomed to sem to spend more time on the surface of things than they do flying around in the air.

alright im cleaning all my cages its gonig to be hell but i will have too. What about the spagamoss thats what i use for my salamanders.

I would have suggested pulling the Salamanders out for an hour or so and placing dry ice on the lid. The CO2 would kill the bugs then when the fly's eggs hatch do it again. A few times through and the problem should be gone.

Thats a great Idea. I've used dry ice to thin rodent colonies and put them down to stock up on frozen but didn't even occure to me to use it for killing pests!!
