I live in central Minnesota and everything is just starting to thaw out. I made plans over the winter to collect various wolf spiders, Salticids, and I was really really hoping to find a nice sized Dolomedes to take into my collection. I will also be collecting some local orb weavers, these will be my first true spiders.
Anyways, I found my dream Dolomedes last night. It was on the back of my neck. I was in my room on and I felt something on the back of my neck for a split second. I ignored it and walked out of room, then I felt a tingle on my elbow. I cupped the spot on my elbow and to my surprise there was the spider I was planning to look for!!! It is about 1 inch size, Dolomedes Scriptus I believe.
