imperial moth sexing

well tonight i caught 2 huge imperial moths which i thought would be female until i read that only males have a lot of purple.... 2ish days ago i caught what i thought to be females but those were half the size of these with way less purple! in the moth world i always thought the females were much larger than the males? here is a photo....what do you all think?

Size-wise, this is generally the case. What do the antennae look like? A male's will be more bipectinate than a female's. Good luck!

Grab the abdomen, if it doesn't feel like a little beanbag it's a male.

I think they are both males. If you could flip over the moths so I could see their abdomens than that would be very helpful. You can also check pictures on this website for male/female comparison
