I'm not even sure if this T is worth it anymore...

Ok...so if you saw my thread about getting a horned baboon tarantula this Saturday.

I didn't get it.

It took almost a month to be able to schedule this.

The person who posted this spider on craigslist said to meet her today at a store. I mapquested it and asked her to make sure it was the right store I found. I even left two voice mails the night before. She decides to email me back 13 hours ago saying it's the wrong store. During that time I was on my way to work and even made two hone calls, to which she sent me to her voice mail after one ring. I don't get why she didn't just call me back to tell me this before my mother drove out to the store(she wasn't too happy about me getting it but offered to pick it up anyway, for which I was very grateful).

A month of trying to meet up with this spider. A month of cat and mouse(or should we say tarantula and dubia roach here?) and STILL rescheduling for this spider. I don't know if I even wanna go get it now. I'm still busy working, and my mom is refusing to partake in this any longer. She can't even drive over to my area since she claims her car will die any day now, and she has refused to try shipping even though I offered to link her to Rob's videos on how to ship T's. Oh fellow T lovers, what should I do?

i feel like i would keep goin just to spite the bad luck that has befallen you so far with this deal, and also to not let all your troubles have been in vain. unless it's mad expensive. then i would do without- this person might just be really, really bad at transactions OR she's messing with you. im not in your position so i dont know what this person's vibe is AND i don't know how badly you want this sp- it's up to you, bro

That's a toughy. My Ceratogyrus (horned baboons) are among my very favorites because of just how unusual and unique they are. I'd give it one more try IF you can even get somebody to drive you there.

Do you at least know what species it is? How big it is? $20 is a decent deal for a sling but not necessarily a crazy steal. If it's a juvie or bigger then i'd say it's a great price.

I forget if it's a juvie or adult. she only called it a curved horn baboon and doesn't know the sex.

It's probably a rosie with a party hat.

Unless she had pictures or something.

I do hope you are able to track her down. It might be best to find a store that is one-of-a-kind and big, kind of like how in some places there is a local hardware store or restaurant that everyone knows about.

Nope no pictures. Said she couldn't take any either. Whether it was real or not, we'll never know. I really doubt someone would lie about selling T's on craigslist though, since they're not very commonly sold on the site to begin with.

My best bet is you're sending your mother into an unfriendly situation.

Ceratogyrus darlingi- East African Horned Baboon 5" Female $64. Posted from a dealer I have used several times with a very good rep. That is a nice size & is a sexed female.
Shoot me pm & i'll give the details, or try back with your original craigslist phantom again. Sounds kinda sketchy to me.

Go with SNAFU on this one, Salty. They don't seem to be bred commonly (enough)- always WC it seems. My dealings w/ CL have always been either not as advertised, overpriced or half dead. May the force be with you...
