just remember to use a good substrate
i cant belive anyone would be that cruel as to not use substrate

...be that cruel as to not use substrate.
Dont know about discoids but I found that my dubia didnt really use the substrate, they mostly stayed up on the hard media, so I stopped using it. They are absolutly thriving and eating everything as fast as I put it in, Ill have to sell some before long or Ill be waist deep in em. Same goes for the hissers and lateralis.
My distante are the only ones that truly love the substrate, only the nymphs though.
Wait till you do a good cleaning and have to sift a few hundred or thousand tiny nymphs out of the substrate...

That's interesting - neither my discoids nor my dubia will willingly go on skin at all. If I have gloves or a long sleeve shirt on they climb right on, but skin they run from.

Maybe it's just me!

I've had my discoids for a month or so and am just now getting babies. They do breed fairly quick. I hope they grow quick, too.

The only substrate I use is their own poo,.
