Get adults
Yeah. I was thinking of young confirmed females. That’s pretty much all I get anyway, as well as the included freebies. I don’t mind waiting a while for the juvies to grow up. It’s not like they really require any maintenance.

By the way, I've been replacing the screen tops on my Zoo Med Critter Habitats with acrylic sheet. I thought of another potential material. RC car body shells are vacuum molded out of a thinner more workable plastic: Lexan

Dude I always thought a Lexan sheet would be perfect given how resilient it is.

Been looking for electric conversion kits for my HPI stadium truck. Doesnt seem to be any out there- not surprised. Going to keep looking

Otherwise that little Losi gets great reviews- might be the next purchase

I went out today and saw some slings for sale.
They had a golden knee (Grammostola pulchripes)
Lol I now own 3
That's awesome. My recommendation would be to grow those up and enjoy the experience. It gets out of hand really quick. It got out of hand for me in the best of ways. Best hobby there is

I would imagine that conversions are a bigger deal with cars. On a plane, you just remove the engine and tank, and replace them with a motor and battery pack. You might have to hack away some plywood and re-glue a few bits and pieces, but that'a about it. I bet you'd have fun with that little Losi.

I got three slings, to start, and a mature female.

in my last year, they bloomed to tiny golden chaco knees.

now they have begun the slow process.

but i LOVE them. I can open the enclosure and no one is trying to kill me.

they proved their will to grow in less then a year: went from piggy to boar in less then 4 months.

now they are miniatures of their adult size and i love them.

i got to experience the growth and their individual personalities quickly.

now i know its a long road, but its so worth it. They can handle stupid mistakes when you are learning.

they are strong and hardy, highly evolved arachnids. They dont even want to kick URS.

they are perfect. 9D36146F-A8EF-4ADB-AC2D-90FE34E6F5E1.jpeg

my golden chacos are going to be beautiful tarantulas in ten years.

i am happy you got three! Just like i did. Only i also had to get a fourth fully grown. Because they are so awesome.

Full of ferocious Grace.

My female Pulchripes is definitely one of my ride or die T's. I'd get rid of something rare before I got rid of her.

thank you for validating that. Its definitely not a peacock tarantula, nor a defensive active tarantula.

and yet, there is a connection you cant get with any other. That is my observation.

in their instinct, they lead us to believe that by opening their enclosure, they don’t want to defend themselves, and are at our mercy.

and us being willing, treat them with respect and delicately do our business.

their slow “retrieval” movements, let us know they won’t defend but patiently await us to be done.

this is a beautiful observation we can get with this species.

The same could be said for my T Albo. I love that T to pieces. You don't need a defensive T to enjoy the hobby
