Howdy from Fort Worth, Texas.
I found this beauty a month and a half ago. I was moving around a brick border in the front yard bush area and she bolted out from under the brick at like 50000 mph or 80467.2 in kilometersšŸ˜‹. She was half the size she is now. I moved her into a new container tonight so decided to see if I could get a identity of her. She makes round web tunnels on the ground that she sits in front of and bolts into if there is any vibration. She canā€™t climb the plastic walls. I am definitely not a photographer sorry but I got a pic the best I can. She is either black or darkest brown with a little lighter brown here and there. She is also ā€œThickerā€ than my common cobweb spider and her webs are on the ground. If she does climb it is only when she is working on her web tunnel. Any other info just let me know.

I couldn't begin to ID her personally, but GOOD JOB describing her. People post questions like this all the time, but with a fraction of the info you've provided. I'm confident someone will get back to you, probably with a rather spot-on identification, because you've made it easy for them...

Thanks šŸ˜Š i donā€™t know her favorite color, but she has told me she likes long walks in the cold darkness of night with her man by her side, before she sacrifices him and uses his carcass as a dune buggy. I told her to wear a helmet but sheā€™s a rebel šŸ¤“

This is a Kukulcania hibernalis, AKA blackhole spider. They're harmless and quite docile, interesting spiders.

edit: may not be a hibernalis, but it is definitely a Kukulcania and looks to be a female.

I donā€™t think this is Kukulcania. The eyes donā€™t look correct and in the new pics it seems there is a pattern on the abdomen, also the chelicerae look way too big. I think this may be Amaurobiidae

Ok so looking at google pics the Kukulcania boy look a lot different than the females but the females got a big booty like my girl
The Amaurobiidae ladies look similar tooā€¦ this is a herd one. Iā€™ll try to get better pics of her..

If this info helps she isnā€™t flattened out when she moves. She walks mor like a cobweb spider. So her legs are more under her than spread out.

Suspect has been identified.
Jane Doe is in fact Metaltella simoni aka Miss Hacklemesh Weaver
She will be incarcerated in Fort Worth in a minimum security acrylic box for her safety and the safety of others.
She seems to be striving and happy in her cell and gets plenty of exercise, meals and television.
may she continue to be a positive member of this facility.
*insert Law and Order dun dun noise here*
