Yea it’s a grass spider of some sort .Looks like Agelenopsis potteri, I wouldn't be surprised if that is what it is, or at least a very closely related species.

It does indeed appear quite similar, however their range does not extend into Michigan. At least there are no reports.Looks like Aglenopsis Aperta to me.
Why do you want it as a pet?I have an outside friend who took up residence earlier this summer. I am not sure what kind of spider it is, a photo is attached. Also, I would like to catch and "domesticate" him as a pet, What is the general thought on this idea? Thank you to the group for taking the time to check out my post!
