I posted the photo of the Yellow Garden Spider - Argiope Aurantia with two male spiders on a social media page. I just thought it interesting that there were two males on her web with her. It drew a lot of comments about the identification of the males. Several people identified the males as Argiope Trifasciata - Banded Garden Spiders and not as Aurantia males. Then the discussion spread to the reason males of a different species would be with her. I am no expert or even mildly informed about this topic. I'd appreciate an identification based on the photos if possible. If the males are Trifasciata, do they cross breed? Is this unusual behavior? Any other comments?
