I'm loving my little guys (only x3 atm) but I find myself wanting to add more already.

Soo, I am new to the hobby and right now have the following....

B.albopilosum
B.Smithi
C.Cyaneopubescens.

I'm after a few idea's on which T's to get next (2-3), I don't want anything nuts (although I was thinking of getting a small 1inch OBT just to see if they live up to the reputation)

Thought's? :)

look into the larger grammostolas like pulchripes and pulchra and maybe an A geniculata.

1. Don't get the OBT.
2. Any species from Aphonopelma/Grammostola/Brachypelma would be good, lots of great looking species there.
3. Acanthoscurria/Nhandu species would be great too - fast growers, great appetites and are beautiful. Can be quite fast and skittish, but considering you have a Chromatopelma cyaneonpubescens you should be fine with them.

:)

My vote goes to Lasiodora parahybana (great feeders), Nhandu chromatus, or even a Phormictopus cancerides if you're up for some attitude.

OBT is no go. No hurry getting into OW T`s.
I would recommend a Grammostola pulchripes a nice species. Great eaters and look stunning with their yellow/golden stribes + they grow a great size. :)

+1 for the A.geniculata and Nhandu, if you're up for some attitude.
I wouldn't go for the OBT. You should have at least raised a Psalmopoeus or P.cancerides to get used to speed and attitude. And I don't think you're ready yet for either one of those, based on what you have now. Are the spiders you have slings or juvies/adults?

Heya :)
The curly is a little one, the smithi and gbb are both around 6cm (I think that falls under juve's?)

Start with a more excitable new world before going into old worlds. Maybe try an A. geniculata or a p. cancerides, then some Psalmopoeus.

It's amazing how interesting these little guys are, I literally sat for 2hours yesterday watching my GBB wander round his enclosure webbing the place up.

I was planning on getting another 2-3 but at this rate that'll be 10!

Have you thought about Thrixopelma cyaneolum would be a good choice if you want a easy going terrestrial docile T. I've heard there great eaters, A great display T with beautiful coloration's.

I was thinking of getting a small 1 inch OBT just to see if they live up to the reputation . Thought's? :)
My thoughts are that they totally live up to the reputation . They have lightning speed with a nice big tall glass full of attitude . When you hear folks in here say that they can teleport it honestly seems like they can . And don't forget the bitey portion of their name . It's because they like to bite . They can easily get you several times before you reflex response will cause you to pull your hand back . I say take your time and get yourself some stepping stone species first . Believe me the OBTs will still be here when you are ready .

I'll put another vote in for either (or both) A. geniculata and L. parahybana. The geniculata beats the parahybana in appearance. They both eat well, and grow fast, get big, and they both have just a little spunk, but not so much that any reasonable care won't allow you to enjoy them. Many of them are kind of hair-kickers though. And of course when they get big, you don't want to get tagged even though their venom is not much of a threat by most accounts.
L. parahybana slings are pretty inexpensive, and genics won't break the bank either.

I'm not sure you were actually thinking logically and safely. Do you think that a species has the reputation it does over the course of decades simply because we are all making it up?

I think people who have this type "logic" should also swim with great white sharks to see if their reputation of being dangerous is true as well.

Your best bet would be to learn about the Ts you presently own, both their behaviors and reading about them on the forum and scientific articles, rather than obtaining more. There's no rush.

Yoyo JIACOMCRAZY Disliking my post again, You are as consistent as DEATH and TAXES

If this was a soccer game, you'd be getting pounded like a clown at a rodeo

2v1 is a loser of a game!

I don't get why this post has a Disagree on it.

If you can afford it get a Grammostola Iheringi very beautiful blueberry blue, maroon abdomen, and black mostly on the legs and carapace.
