ID this zoo specimen?

My zoology homework required I go to the zoo (DON'T YOU HATE SCHOOL? ) and write about one animal each from a list of orders.

Unfortunately their reptile exhibit was painfully tiny - less than almost any petstore you can visit - and I didn't see a label on this guy, my only good example of squamata. What is he?

Looks like a sundan plated lizard.

Some subspecies (possibly even an intergrade) of Gerrhosaurus major.
