found this guy in my house...the pic is really murky cuz it's so small and my camera goes out of focus...it's about 3/4 inches, pinky legs and black "toe"s. gray abdomen and very noticable black "face" (eye field area to fangs). a sling of brown recluse?

Not a brown recluse, they're not large spiders anyways. And the second pair or third pair of legs are the longest depending on the sex for Loxosceles reclusa. Here is the leg formulas to species of Loxosceles occuring in Texas.

L. reclusa - leg formula 2413 female; 2143 male

L. devia - leg formula 2413 female; 2143 male

L. apachea - leg formula 4213 female; 2413 male

L. blanda - leg formula 4213 female; 2413 male

L. rufescens - 2413 both sexes.

1 represents the shortest, 4 represents the longest.

Although the picture isn't of much use, the conical spinnerettes you can see and your description of black chelicerae makes me think Clubionidae.

As for the comment on L. reculsa, they can have leg spans of 1-1.25 inches, larger then the spider in question. But of course, this isn't a L. reculsa.
