a guy found this little fellow in Rhodes island (Greece,remember :)) where he lives and he sent me a few pics.Now, i had also seen one exactly the same a few years ago when i was in the army back here in Athens.what is it??

It's a female Eresus sp. (ladybird spider, the female could in fact be blackbird spider :) ). In northern Europe there is a single spec., E. cinnaberinus. I don't know if there are any other species in Greece.

Yeah definately an Eresus sp. I love these little guys.. especially the orange faced ones :D nice find!


edit- after more research I found that E.cinnaberinus is the only Eresus sp. in Greece so now you know! (info may be wrong)
