the scientific name is Thamnophis marcianus , Ive found these crawling in the grass when i was mowing the lawn

the grass snake, brown snake, and checkered garter snake all look very similar. The checkered garter snake tends to be more of an olive color and the brown snake obviously brown or tan and the grass snake tends to have darker colors than the other two. :D

So they arent harmful?

Wow

That's a lucky garter snake. My brother accidentally ran over a few with the lawn mower. He did save 15 tho that we released in our garden later.
