I caught some insects last weekend. Maybe you can help me ID them.

I think I got a stag beetle, shown here under natural light and with flash.

I'm not sure what kind of roach is this? They don't burrow but can climb glass and plastic. One good thing I observed is that they don't stink. I'm considering breeding them as feeders. What do you think?

OH BOY, yup, looks like Harlequins (Neostylopyga rhombifolia) to me too, lucky you! I keep them as pets, not feeders because they are so pretty, but I guess you could feed them if you wish, I dunno. They are fast.

So this is a Harlequin roach! I only collected four since I didn't know what they are. I could have easily collected a hundred. Yes they are fast. That's why I got lazy catching them, I kept these for ID reasons only. I found them between the bark of trees on a hillside by the beach. There seems to be a colony per tree.

So I guess I will keep them as pets, not until I catch some more.

That's a rhino beetle.Stag beetles have large jaws (males only) while rhino beetles have horns (male only)

I tried to register at Philippine tarantula and scorpion society and it seems the admin is busy or seems doesn't care...
