I get one or two of these flying into my apartment every time it rains. They come alone and are evidently solitary though. Their mandibles make a very audible "click" sound when they snap shut. Very impressive. They pack a decent sting too, and are very aggressive. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

OHH! This would be a trap-jaw ant! These are pretty cool. Some species can close their jaws fast enough (world-record fast) that they go flying into the air. I assume you live in Arizona?
