I moved some rocks around in my front yard yesterday and found these roaches (central Texas). I've found them before. I have some that have been in a terr with a pede for almost a year that had babies. There are several that surf the soil in there. The pede has a hard time getting them and is well fed so, many of the baby roaches have survived. They clean up the leftovers too. The babies sneak up on the prey while the pede is eating and take a few bites. They dive under if the pede moves too fast. I don't know what kind they are. Anybody on the AB know? They like to move around just below the surface and stick there antennae out of the dirt. Hard to get a good pic. They don't stay still very long.

Thanks Froggy. You keeping them all together? Pretty tough roaches...strong for their size.

Haha, man that was a dumb way to word that. I meant, "how do you keep them.." I know you don't have one in each container, hehe.

haha yea
i have about 500 adults in a ten gallon with 4 inches of soft soil
keep it moist and they boom
i suggest you start with one and watch
i started with 300 large and 200 tiny babies in sept.
out of the 300 large 30 were adults and they all died from the stress of moving
i now have over 500 adults and 1000 to 1500 small over a quater of a inch
i have proble 2 or 3 thousand pinheads lol
my cane toad helps keep them in line
canes are a must have for anyone with alot of roaches
feed them alot or a little and they are happy

Ahh, Bufo marinus. Now I understand you having a bunch of roaches. I've been interested in those for several years but never really tried to chase one down. My sister went to Florida to see some friends a couple of years ago. She said these huge toads would come on to the porch and eat the cat food out of the bowl on their porch. Tried to attach a pic I found on the net of a big one.
