I think it is a Dolomedes tenebrosus

it is a fishing spider found in canada and the northern parts of the U.S. on the coast awesome spider from what ive read they can get 3-3.5" and they wander around not really having a burrow.let me know if im wrong on the ID im not a true spider expert at all but I also saw a pic of it once and thought it would be great to have one to feed gold fish to. if you catch one let me know id love to have one but im in Ut not a good place to find them lol.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing after checking buguide.net and other sites by comparing pictures. I found her one night on my porch when I was collecting moths for my wolf spider. Didn't what what it was, but she was so fast I had to keep her. Shes molted 3 times since I've had her, everytime shes gets bigger and bigger. I saw one up north when I was on a fishing trip this year that must have been over 3.5", tryed catching it, but it was way too fast.

Anyways, what kind of setup should I have for her? So for I have little rocks and a piece of driftwood for her to climb on. How long will she live for?
