ID Please

I'm not sure where to put these guys for an ID but here sounded good.
I was opening my window to get some fresh air flowing when I saw these guys grouped together in about the area of a nickle.

I live in Greenwood, IN and I've never seen these guys before. I have seen a similar looking insect but all lime green in color and usually on vine plants.

They almost look like assassin bugs...






Egg pod thingy?

Cool, thx for the ID is there a way to find their scientific name? I see adult ones EVERYWHERE around here during this time of the year just the ones I see are brown and quite pests. I always mistake them as assassin bugs then once I look at their heads that's where you can tell they are not.

Nice find! I get very similar-looking ones around my yard every spring/summer, especially around my tomatos and peppers. They're a type of true bug from the order Hemiptera (same as assassin's, leaf-hoppers) and definitely a species of leaf-footed bug, as ZergFront mentioned. IMO they're easier to ID once adults, as some species can change drastically throughout instars. Hope that helps! :)
